Forget Paris....it's Seville now!

Before I forget Paris completely here are some photos based on the'flaneuring' we did.

To the French 'flaneuring' means aimlessly wandering, and we manageded to do considerable flaneuring as it is the best way to see Paris. Tiny shops selling specialty items,  ornate fountains, tempting patisseries,  homeware and design shops selling items far too big to fit in our bags,  huge monuments,  imposing old historical buildings. ...and it just goes on and on.

Being on limited time means you do have to do the opposite to flaneuring too, so here are some sights we visited when not flaneuring .

1. An exhibition on flaneuring in Paris sponsored by Hermės, so their handbags, scarves were a feature.  Delightful! Lots of clever audio visual art with my favorite being a tiny dancer in a tea cup.

2. The Musee des Arts Decoratif. The art deco displays and modern furniture were fascinating

3. The Tuileries and Luxembourg Gardens: avenues of trees, large ponds with sailing boats,  lots of topiary and colourful flower beds.  The main feature is people sunbaking and snoozing in the lounge chairs provided.

4. Liz and I visited the  Foundation du Cartier and saw an exhibition of work from the Congo: political comment,  fantasy cities,  people having fun..... what's not to like?

5. The bridge with so many padlocks attached by lovers that the weight was a problem and the City had to destroy some of them.  There goes those relationships! ?

And I have included some photos of some well- known landmarks

And so it goes on. .....

Note to self: spend more time in Paris!
